I personally won't argue about a 50 rp-hour thing, but would rather it be higher — 50 hours is, to me, just enough time to cement the idea of a character and not quite enough to really be impacting the game the way I think nobles can (and should!).

The amount of time doesn't really matter to me, though I'd prefer they be a solid character with a history that players would feel a loss of rather than just a fly-by-night who came around, found the game wasn't their cup of tea, and dropped off. I can go with 100 hours without stress.

I agree with this sentiment, but trying to determine "A solid character with a history" is kind of hard, and would open avenues for interpretation. At least with the amount of time, there is some indication of something there if the time is long enough.

I think that this is an interesting idea, but the limit on how long it can last would definitely be important so that all of our existing lands don't get tied up with characters that may never return.

I think a year would be okay unless we get a sudden PBase explosion and subsequent noble explosion? It would account for random RL 'life events' cropping up reasonably well.

I'm honestly surprised that this isn't the way it already works, so +1 to the suggestion!

I really like this idea too. I think 50, or 75 hours is good. Less than that and I almost wonder if it would be easier to say "This noble never actually existed" so people can apply and take that domain without some convoluted story.

I think this is a great idea.
