I feel like it would be neat and very in-tone to be able to lace things other than JUST food and drink, such as drugs or the like. The edible ones make the most sense in this case, like the tubori frog elixir or otherwise. In conjunction with sniff maybe a skilled herbalist could notice something off-color about it, etc. It COULD also work with some smokeable items sensibly, but, it may be a little more off the wall? Like, leaving herbs or leaves out to soak in poisons or some such.

Poisoning drugs sounds very much in-theme and within the realm of reason. I would argue, even, that it would be a lot harder to detect this kind of thing compared to drugging food and drink unless one had pretty high familiarity with the substances. However, I think it would need to be a bit more involved than food and drink, because of the possibilities of both (or more) drugs taking effect, alongside dosages and all other kinds of interesting nonsense.
