Re: Iain's Erra Pater

(Inserted in in the pages of the chapter on King Dav ab Harmon, Saint of

REFLECTIONS ON KING DAV AND ON THE URTHLY INTERVENTION OF THE DIVINE

In some ways, Dav, the Saint of Saints and the origin of all of our faiths,
also serves to represent one of the greatest challenges to my own ...

Re: Iain's Erra Pater

Iain examines a worn copy of the 'Erra Pater' bound in black leather.
This copy of the Erra Pater, so commonly found around the Kingdom, is
well worn with age and travel. Its parchment pages have yellowed and are
riddled with dog ears, torn corners, and little rips in the margins. All
the same, the ...

Iain's Erra Pater

I have been working on retooling the copy of the Erra Pater belonging to Iain, my character, to reflect the importance of the book being a text that accompanied him throughout his time on grid as well as before it.

Today, I finished.. it includes, of course, the full text of the Erra Pater we all ...

Re: Marriage bann automation

I've thought about something like this once or twice, and always dismissed it without public comment as something that would need to be coded that brought little to the game save allowing some of us Order-maining players to be a bit lazier in making sure we switched banns out on time, etc.

Dice ...

Clergy: Who we are and What we Do

As many of you likely know by now, I'm back at the helm of the Order (God save us). Now, I know I have a limited time in the position and, as such, I want to try and tackle what I can to set things up for a good turn over and, hopefully, put my successor in a good position to catapult the Order ...

Re: Condemned Book, Bell, and Candle (Church Penalties, Part

What should the coercive powers of bishops and ecclesiastical authority in theme be?

I created an IC book called the Book of Penances to address this with all sorts of yummy ideas in it. Please have a look there? Feel free to suggest additions also.

I have read the book of penances, and it is a ...

Re: Condemned Book, Bell, and Candle (Church Penalties, Part

Conceding the topic of not having excommunication being common (begrudgingly, but this seems the will of the pbase), I will shift the question: What should the coercive powers of bishops and ecclesiastical authority in theme be?

In the end, I want a tool box, something I can use as an inquisitor to ...

Re: Condemned Book, Bell, and Candle (Church Penalties, Part

In general, Onyx, that'd be how I'd see that going - at the least, steps 1-3, for sure.

We used to execute heretics who seemed unrepentant; I'm not sure if we should just say "the church doesn't do that at all anymore, and if somebody is a complete and unrepentant heretic they get excommunicated ...

Condemned Book, Bell, and Candle (Church Penalties, Part 1)

We have had a lot of discussion on making the Church scary again. I posted some discussion on RPA costs, but the part 2 of this discussion is bringing up ecclesastical censures for those who attract the ire of Church authority. The first I'd like to examine is excommunication and its place in our ...

Re: Regency Quest Feedback

Just like it's a good thing when we have an Earl Marshal stick around for more than two months, I think it's a good thing for the Regent to be the same person for as long as possible, if possible. Of course the nature of the regency game changes that. In the end, I don't think this idea of ...
